House in Center Bridge
(1890–1957)
Why We Love It
A quintessential New Hope scene, this painting is a marvelous example of the artist’s style. With his bold juicy brushwork and rich color palette, Nunamaker captured the warm sunlight casting its long shadows on a clear fall day in Center Bridge. This delightful painting would be a wonderful addition to any collection of Pennsylvania Impressionism.
The Value
Kenneth Nunamaker was a key artist among the Pennsylvania Impressionists. His long career as a graphic designer influenced the way he organized his painting compositions and choice of color. Any collection of the New Hope School should have one of his works. This particular example is superb and also has a very fine period frame.
