Avery Galleries is pleased to present "Body of Art: The Figure in American Painting," which opens at our Bryn Mawr location on October 9th, 2025. This exhibition will showcase almost 100 years of figurative painting in America and feature works by such iconic artists as John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, and Andrew Wyeth.The wide range of artworks in this exhibition serves to highlight the mutliplicity of ways that the figure has been depicted throughout art history from the society portrait, to the nude figure, to the deeply personal and intimate portrayal of an individual.
This exhibition will be on view at Avery Galleries, Bryn Mawr from October 9th through November 6th, 2025.
